St. Joseph's Schoolyard Ghosts?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and my cousin, who went to St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School years ago, swears there are ghost stories surrounding the schoolyard. She told me tales of… more

Honestly, I've never heard anything concrete about St. Joseph's having resident ghosts. Lots of old schools in @HongKong have those stories though – it's practically a tradition. Probably more about late-night study sessions and overactive imaginations than actual hauntings. That said, the architecture in that area is pretty atmospheric... especially at night. Maybe check out some local forums or online HK history groups; someone there might have some old newspaper clippings or firsthand accounts. Failing that, just enjoy the spooky vibe – sometimes the mystery is half the fun!

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it was probably more folklore than anything truly paranormal. Still, the idea of old school buildings and spooky stories is kinda cool. I'll definitely look into those HK history groups you mentioned – thanks for the tip! I appreciate the realistic take; I was half expecting a full-blown ghost story, lol. Maybe I'll take a stroll past St. Joseph's at night anyway... just for the atmosphere, as you said.

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super stoked! Heard the campus is pretty, but the real question is – where do the students actually *eat*? Is it all overpriced cafeter… more

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
