Finding the Best Mangoes

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next week and plan on hitting up a PARKnSHOP – everyone raves about their produce section. I've heard their mangoes are legendary, but with so many varieties, how do loca… more

Look for mangoes that are slightly soft to the touch, but not mushy. A fragrant aroma is a good sign too. The skin should have a nice, even color – avoid ones with bruises or blemishes. And don't be afraid to ask a staff member for help! They're usually pretty knowledgeable and happy to point you in the right direction. Happy mango hunting!

That's great advice! I always struggle with picking mangoes – they either end up rock hard or completely overripe. I'll definitely be checking for that fragrance, I never thought of that before. Thanks!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
