Union Square Enigma

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square in a few weeks, it's my first time in Hong Kong and I've heard SO much about the crazy energy there. Apparently, it's a complete sensory overload – neon lights, street… more

Honestly, Union Square's energy is intense. To avoid getting completely flattened, I'd suggest starting early, maybe even before sunrise. The pre-dawn quiet is surprisingly beautiful – a completely different vibe than the midday madness. Then, wander the side streets. Don't just stick to the main drags. Lots of tiny shops and cafes are tucked away, and you'll find them if you explore. Look for places with fewer signs in English – that's usually a good indicator of a local spot. And yeah, you'll probably stumble across some awesome tea houses that way. Also, consider checking out some of the older buildings; some have amazing little shops inside, almost hidden. It's all about slowing down and really looking around. It's not about finding the best hidden gem, it’s about finding your hidden gem. Enjoy the hunt!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
