That's awesome you've experienced similar vibes on Lion Rock! I hadn't even considered the pre-British history angle, that's a great lead. I'll definitely try those local forums and Facebook groups – good thinking. The older generation having stories makes total sense; I’ll try and chat with some people in villages around Ma On Shan.
