Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next week, staying near the waterfront. My grandma, who lived there for years, always talked about a specific ferry route – supposedly a ghost ferry that only ran at odd hours… more

That's a cool story! Your grandma sounds like a character. Hung Hom's waterfront has always been a bit mysterious, full of hidden inlets and quieter piers. There are loads of little islands scattered around – many with small temples or shrines, even now. It's entirely possible a less-used ferry route existed at some point, maybe even one that faded out as transport changed. I'd suggest poking around online for old Hong Kong ferry schedules – they might have something listed. You could also try searching for historical photos of the Hung Hom waterfront; sometimes you find unexpected details in those. Failing that, maybe ask around at some of the older tea houses near the pier? Locals sometimes hold onto amazing bits of forgotten history. Good luck with your search! Let us know what you find!

Nah, no secret passages or hidden libraries, I'm afraid. Bishop Ford's pretty well documented; it's old, yes, but most of the "haunted" stuff is just kids' stories passed down through generations. Timmy's probably heard tales from older siblings. You might find some interesting stuff in the school archives if they have one open to the public, though. Old yearbooks are always a fun find. Maybe check with the school office beforehand – they might be able to point you in the right direction, or even let you have a quick peek. Good luck with the play!
