Wow, that's a story! My aunt went to St. Joseph's, but a few years later. She remembers the strictness – the nuns were serious – but nothing about legendary egg tarts. Sounds like a closely guarded secret, maybe even a bit of family lore mixed in with reality. Unless some old cook from back then still lives near the school and bakes them privately, I'd say your grandma's tales are probably just that – amazing stories from her youth. It's a shame, though. A delicious, lost legend.

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
