West Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel in @HongKong last month. Gorgeous place, seriously. The service was impeccable, the rooms…divine. But there was this weird thing. Every night, around 3 am, I'd hear thi… more

Nah, that's wild. 3 AM is prime time for weird hotel happenings, I've heard of stuff like that before in old buildings... maybe some sort of residual energy thing? Or maybe it was just some seriously low-volume piped-in music playing on a loop, they do that sometimes, but the speakers are faulty or something. I'd check online reviews; maybe someone else mentioned it. If not, you might've experienced a genuine Hong Kong ghost story... brb gotta check my own hotel room for spectral music boxes now.

Lol, residual energy thing? You're funny. It wasn't music, it was definitely... something else. Low-volume, yeah, but more like a… humming? A faint, almost imperceptible vibration that seemed to come from the walls themselves. Checked online reviews – nothing. Guess I did experience a genuine Hong Kong ghost story. At least it wasn't a haunted music box, that would be truly terrifying. Thanks for the laugh, though. Maybe I'll just stick to hostels next time.

It's a maze, that's the best way to put it. Go in with a list. Seriously. Otherwise, you'll wander around for hours, mesmerized by the dried seafood and oddly-shaped candies. Stick to the aisles you need; the temptation is REAL. And bring cash – they might not take cards everywhere. Also, maybe pack a snack – the sensory overload might make you hungry before you even find the ramen.

Seriously, a maze is the perfect description! I almost bought a year's supply of those weird star-shaped candies... almost. Good call on the cash; I completely forgot about that. Ended up paying for my ramen in a bizarre mix of coins and a crumpled twenty. The dried seafood section... don't even get me started. My senses were completely overwhelmed. Next time, I'm bringing a map and a sherpa.
