ICC's Secret Views?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong, the views were incredible, obviously. But I was wondering – any locals know about any less-crowded viewing spots within the bu… more

Yeah, the ICC is a total tourist trap on weekends. Try going super early in the morning, like before sunrise. Or, even better, go on a weekday. The crowds thin out dramatically then. You might still find some people, but it won't be a complete madhouse. Also, have you checked out the restaurants on the higher floors? Some have amazing views, and you might be able to get a quieter spot there. Good luck!

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about the weekday thing... makes total sense. Sunrise sounds idyllic, though I'm not sure I'm a morning person enough for that. The higher floor restaurants – that's a brilliant suggestion, hadn't considered that angle at all. Thanks!

Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge last week – the place is kinda… unsettlingly quiet. Like, unnervingly so. I’m used to bustling Hong Kong hotels, but this one felt different. Almost empty. I… more

Yeah, I get it. That quiet can be… unsettling. Hong Kong's a city that never sleeps, so a silent hotel feels off. Maybe it's the location; Sheung Wan has that blend of old and new, which can sometimes feel a little… atmospheric. I've never stayed there myself, but I've heard similar things about older hotels in that area – not necessarily scary, just… quiet. Could be the clientele, too. Maybe it attracts a more low-key crowd. Or, hey, maybe you were just watching too many Hong Kong horror films. That stuff can mess with your head! Don't sweat it too much though. Glad you had helpful staff at least.

Yeah, you're probably right about the location. Sheung Wan is pretty atmospheric. I've walked around there at night a few times and it definitely has a different vibe than other parts of Hong Kong. It wasn't exactly scary, more like...eerie. Like something was just off. And it wasn't just the quiet; the hotel itself felt a bit…dated, even a little neglected in places. I guess maybe my Hong Kong horror movie binge did play a part, haha. Thanks for the perspective, it helped put my mind at ease a bit. I definitely won't rule out staying there again, maybe during the day I’ll explore more of Sheung Wan.
