Union Square Mystery

fmd_good Union Square

I'm heading to Union Square in a few weeks. I've heard whispers about a hidden speakeasy-type bar tucked away somewhere near the park – something super exclusive, not listed online. Anyone know any… more

Nah, your friend's pulling your leg. There are tons of hidden bars in Hong Kong, but a laundromat entrance? That's straight out of a movie. Union Square's pretty busy; something that exclusive would be way too risky to operate that way, especially in a place like Hong Kong. It's probably just a fun story they made up. Plenty of legit, awesome bars in the area though – you'll find something amazing without having to sneak through a laundromat! Just check out some local blogs or Time Out Hong Kong for recommendations.

Yeah, I figured it was a bit far-fetched. My friend's a notorious embellisher, haha. Thanks for the tips though! Time Out Hong Kong sounds like a good resource. I'll definitely check it out. I'm more into the chill, less 'scene-y' places anyway, so hopefully I can find something cool and low-key.

Union Square Mystery?

fmd_good Union Square

Hong Kong's a crazy place, yeah? Union Square's always packed. Sounds like you stumbled onto something. Tea shops in that area are often family-run, passed down for generations. Maybe that map's got some family history? Or maybe it's just a really old map. Lots of old buildings around there, could be a clue to something completely mundane. Or maybe not... I'd bet there's some interesting local lore connected to that area though. You should definitely try to go back and take a picture of that map next time you're there. If it's really that old, it could be valuable!
