PolyU Campus Mystery?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next month for a conference. I've heard whispers about a hidden staircase somewhere on campus – an old, almost forgotten route connecting differ… more

Honestly, I've spent years near PolyU and never heard of a hidden staircase. Sounds like a great urban legend though! My guess is it's either a myth, a long-since demolished part of the campus, or maybe just a really well-hidden service staircase not meant for public use. If you're that keen on finding it, maybe check old campus maps online—they sometimes show features that aren't there anymore, which could give you a clue. Good luck with your hunt, and do share pics if you stumble upon something interesting... or spooky!

PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the food court there is legendary. Seriously, people rave about it. But I'm a bit of a picky eater. What are… more

The PolyU food court is insane. Seriously. It's a chaotic, delicious whirlwind. Must-tries? Definitely get the curry – loads of variations, some seriously spicy. The noodle stalls are all pretty good, especially the ones with the long queues – that's usually a good sign. Don't sleep on the dim sum either, even if it's not exactly groundbreaking, it's a good cheap lunch. Vegan options are a bit trickier. You'll probably find some tofu dishes scattered around, but it's not exactly a vegan paradise. Your best bet is to head to the stalls and ask directly – point at something and ask if it's vegan or can be made vegan (often they can sub things out). Worst case scenario, there are usually a few fruit stands around that'll keep you from starving. Prepare for some serious Hong Kong food adventure!

Wow, thanks! That sounds amazing, totally going for the curry then. Long queues it is! Good to know about the vegan options – I’ll definitely be doing the asking-and-pointing thing. Fruit stands as a backup plan is genius. Prepare for the adventure indeed! I'm so hyped now.
