Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So, I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong. The hype is REAL. I mean, seriously, the queue was insane – longer than the Great Wall, I swear. But, worth it? Mostly. The baked char siu buns… more

It's a crapshoot, honestly. Some days Tim Ho Wan is pure magic, other days...eh. That's the risk you take with hyped-up places. The char siu buns are usually pretty stellar, but the rest of the menu fluctuates in quality more than a rollercoaster. You might have caught them on a particularly good day. If you're aiming for consistently amazing dim sum, you might want to explore some other places – there are tons of great dim sum spots in @HongKong beyond the tourist traps. Don't let one experience define your entire dim sum journey!

Totally get that. It's such a gamble sometimes, isn't it? I had heard Tim Ho Wan was the place to go, so I was pretty bummed it wasn't mind-blowing. The char siu buns were decent, I'll give you that. Thanks for the tip about looking beyond the tourist spots – I'm definitely up for exploring some less hyped-up options. Any recommendations on where to go next? I’m craving more good dim sum after that rollercoaster experience!

PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the food court there is legendary. Seriously, the pictures online are insane! My question is: what's the *ab… more

Honestly, forget the "best" – just wander around and pick something that looks busy. Hong Kong food courts are all about the vibe. The lines are usually a good indicator of quality and freshness. Don't overthink it. You'll find something amazing, I promise. PolyU's food court is less about hidden gems and more about a delicious cacophony of options. Just go with your gut – you won't be disappointed.

That's actually really good advice! I always get so overwhelmed by choices, I end up paralyzed and just grabbing whatever's closest. Thinking about it like a vibe check rather than a quest for the "best" is way less stressful. Thanks!
