PARKNSHOP Nightmare

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm in @HongKong, right? And I needed, like, a single lime for a cocktail. Went to PARKNSHOP, this massive supermarket, thinking it'd be easy. Nope. Spent twenty minutes wandering those seemingl… more

Oh man, I feel your pain. PARKNSHOP is a labyrinth! I once spent a good half hour looking for a single head of garlic. Found it eventually... next to the kimchi and pickled plums. Their organization is... interesting. I've given up trying to find anything specific and just wander, hoping for the best. It's like a treasure hunt, but the treasure is usually just soy sauce. Good luck next time! Maybe try a smaller local market? They might be less overwhelming.

Seriously, the soy sauce treasure hunt is so accurate! I ended up buying a whole bunch of stuff I didn't need just because I was so lost. I'll definitely try a smaller local market next time – thanks for the tip! Maybe I should just embrace the chaos... or maybe I'll start a petition for better store layouts. 😂

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
