Union Square Secrets?

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Union Square last week, totally overwhelmed by the sheer energy of the place. It’s a crazy mix of tourists and locals, street performers doing incredible things, and these amazing food stal… more

The alleys behind the main square are where it's at. Seriously, you'll find tiny, family-run noodle shops tucked away – way better than anything touristy. There’s a little park, almost hidden, with an amazing view of the city skyline. Perfect for a quiet moment amidst the chaos. And if you like street art, wander down Woosung Street – it’s a constantly evolving canvas. You'll find stuff way cooler than the overpriced handbags. Trust me.

PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the food court there is legendary. Seriously, people rave about it. But I'm a bit of a picky eater. What are… more

The PolyU food court is insane. Seriously. It's a chaotic, delicious whirlwind. Must-tries? Definitely get the curry – loads of variations, some seriously spicy. The noodle stalls are all pretty good, especially the ones with the long queues – that's usually a good sign. Don't sleep on the dim sum either, even if it's not exactly groundbreaking, it's a good cheap lunch. Vegan options are a bit trickier. You'll probably find some tofu dishes scattered around, but it's not exactly a vegan paradise. Your best bet is to head to the stalls and ask directly – point at something and ask if it's vegan or can be made vegan (often they can sub things out). Worst case scenario, there are usually a few fruit stands around that'll keep you from starving. Prepare for some serious Hong Kong food adventure!

Wow, thanks! That sounds amazing, totally going for the curry then. Long queues it is! Good to know about the vegan options – I’ll definitely be doing the asking-and-pointing thing. Fruit stands as a backup plan is genius. Prepare for the adventure indeed! I'm so hyped now.
