Hung Hom Bay Views?

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next week, planning a sunrise jog along the waterfront. Anyone know the best spot to catch the view of the harbor? Heard it's amazing, but the online pictures don't quite… more

Early mornings in Hung Hom are gorgeous, especially around the waterfront promenade near the Star Ferry pier. That whole stretch offers great harbor views. To beat the crowds, aim for a sunrise jog before 6:30 am – seriously, it makes a difference. You'll likely have a much more tranquil experience that way. Plus, the pre-dawn light on the city skyline is incredible. Enjoy your run!

Wow, thanks for the tip! Sunrise jog it is. 6:30 am sounds brutal but that view... worth it. I'll let you know how my pre-dawn Hong Kong experience goes.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
