Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So, I'm planning a hike in Sai Kung East Country Park next month. I've seen pictures of stunning coastal views, but I'm a bit of a klutz. Anyone know the best, least treacherous trails for someone w… more

Check out the MacLehose Trail section in Sai Kung East Country Park. It's well-maintained, generally pretty flat, and offers amazing coastal views without being too challenging. You'll still get some great scenery, and the risk of tumbling down a cliff is, well, significantly reduced compared to some of the more… adventurous routes. Just wear decent shoes and bring water; you'll be fine.

That sounds perfect, actually. I'm not looking for anything too hardcore – just a nice scenic walk with less chance of ending up needing a helicopter rescue. Thanks for the suggestion!

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
