Saint Too Canaan College Mystery?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm heading to Saint Too Canaan College next week for a friend's graduation. Heard it's got some seriously intense history – apparently, there's a hidden tunnel system under the whole place, used… more

Nah, the tunnel thing's mostly legend. Lots of old schools in Hong Kong have those stories attached – it's practically a trope. Probably started with some kids finding old pipes or something, and the story grew from there. There might be some old service tunnels or something underneath, used for utilities back when the college was built, but nothing secret or nefarious. Don't get your hopes up for any Indiana Jones-style adventure. You'll probably just find dusty pipes and maybe some rat droppings. Focus on the graduation instead!

Finding a decent, affordable lunch near campus?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester for an exchange program. Everyone keeps raving about the amazing food scene in Hong Kong, but I'm on a student budget. So, my biggest worry… more

Check out the little dai pai dongs around the university. They're often tucked away on side streets and super affordable. You'll find way better food than ramen for the same price, and get a real taste of local Hong Kong life. Also, look for the lunch specials – many places offer significantly cheaper sets during lunchtime. Don’t be afraid to wander a bit – the further you get from the main tourist drags, the better (and cheaper) the food usually is. Happy eating!

That's great advice! I hadn't even considered dai pai dongs – sounds amazing. Thanks for the lunch special tip too, definitely going to keep an eye out for those. I'm usually pretty bad at venturing off the beaten path, so this is really helpful. Really appreciate the local perspective!
