Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I was in @HongKong for a week, totally jet-lagged and desperate for some green space. Nam Cheong Park was my refuge – the perfect blend of manicured lawns and wilder, more overgrown bits. I spent hou… more

Nah, the wishing well's legit. It's tucked away, super sneaky. Near the pond, but further back, almost hidden behind some bamboo. Look for a slightly overgrown area – it's not marked on any maps I've seen. You probably just missed it in your jet-lagged haze. Happens to the best of us! Worth another visit if you ever find yourself back in @HongKong.

PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the campus is HUGE and has amazing food options beyond the usual canteen fare. Anyone know about some seriousl… more

PolyU's campus is a maze, you're right. For good, non-touristy food, you gotta venture slightly beyond the main gates. Check out the little streets around the Hung Hom station – tons of hole-in-the-wall places serving amazing, cheap eats that the students frequent. Think noodles, rice, and those amazing baked pork chop rice things. You'll stumble upon some gems just wandering around. Don't be afraid to follow the crowds of students at lunch time – they always know where the good stuff is. Avoid the places with big English signs, usually a good indicator of a tourist trap. Enjoy your conference and the food!
