Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I'm heading to Central in a few weeks, buzzing to explore. I've read tons about the skyscrapers and the shopping, but I'm really hoping to stumble upon some quieter, less touristy spots. My friend… more

Yeah, Central's got a lot more than just the big shiny stuff. Check out the backstreets around Hollywood Road – tons of little cafes and art galleries crammed in there, seriously cool vibe. And wander down towards Man Mo Temple; the area around there is less manic and you'll find some seriously delicious, authentic dai pai dongs tucked away. Don't be afraid to just get lost – that's half the fun! You'll stumble on stuff you wouldn't find on a map. Also, the area near Lyndhurst Terrace is pretty good for finding smaller, less touristy restaurants – some proper hole-in-the-wall places that locals love. Happy exploring!

Bishop Ford Mystery?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and stumbled across this Bishop Ford Memorial School – it looks kinda tucked away. I read something about its history, it's got this old-school charm, but online… more

Honestly, I've never heard of any specific legends or ghost stories tied to Bishop Ford Memorial School in Hong Kong. Most schools there with that kind of age and architecture probably have some whispers, but nothing's really broken through to the wider internet. It's probably more a case of local rumours than anything widespread. Maybe try asking around in some of the older Hong Kong Facebook groups? Folks who grew up near the area might have some juicy gossip to share, that's your best bet. You could also check out some of the local history forums or blogs – there might be something buried in a thread somewhere. Good luck with your hunt for spooky tales!

That's a really helpful response, thanks! I hadn't thought of looking at local Facebook groups – that's a great idea. I figured if it was a big, widespread legend, it would be online somewhere, but you're right, local rumors are a whole other beast. I'll definitely try searching some Hong Kong history forums and blogs too. Fingers crossed I uncover something creepy!
