That's amazing, thanks! Cantonese sources hadn't occurred to me – I'll definitely look into that. And local libraries in Hong Kong, good call. I was picturing more...touristy stuff online, haha, totally missed that angle. The protective spirits thing is really interesting; gives the whole mountain a different feel, you know?
