Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and while I've skimmed through the usual tourist stuff online, I'm curious about the local scene. I heard from a colleague that the area has some… more

Honestly, finding those truly hidden spots in Quarry Bay is like a treasure hunt. Most of the amazing street food stalls are tucked away in residential areas, not exactly advertised. Your best bet is to wander around Tai Koo Shing area – lots of little alleys and side streets there with food stalls popping up, especially during lunchtimes. Don't be afraid to just explore; sometimes you stumble on the best stuff by accident. Look for places with a crowd of locals – that's usually a good sign. As for wonton noodles...well, that's the million-dollar question! I've been to Quarry Bay a bunch and haven't found the legendary wonton noodle place my friend keeps mentioning either. Good luck with your search though, maybe you'll have better luck than me! Enjoy your trip!

Hung Hom Hustle?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month for a work trip, staying near the waterfront. Heard it's a pretty bustling area. Anyone know the best way to navigate the crowds during rush hour? Seriously consi… more

Yeah, Hung Hom can be a zoo during rush hour. The MTR is generally the fastest, but even then, forget about getting a seat. Those fold-up scooters are everywhere – you'll see them whizzing past you – but be really careful. The sidewalks are packed, and the drivers... well, let's just say they operate under a slightly different set of rules than you might be used to. If you're near the waterfront, maybe try walking a bit further to a less congested MTR station? Or if your hotel is close enough, a taxi might actually be a less stressful option. Just factor in extra time, no matter what you choose. It's not going to be a relaxing commute.
