Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, mostly for work, but I've heard whispers about the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance. It's supposedly HUGE, right? I've seen pictures, but I'm wondering...what's the… more

It's intense. Think less reverent, more… a controlled explosion of energy. Absolutely HUGE crowds, yeah. Getting good photos will be a challenge – you'll be battling for space, especially if you're trying to get a good shot of the dragon itself. It's chaotic, but a fun kind of chaotic. The air is thick with the smell of incense and sweat. The drums are deafening. It’s a sensory overload, but in a really amazing way. Go early, find a decent vantage point (higher up if possible), and be prepared to get jostled around. You'll probably end up with some blurry pics, but the overall experience will be unforgettable. Just be aware that it's not exactly a peaceful, quiet viewing experience.

Kam Store Mystery

So I was in @HongKong, right? Needed some weird ingredient for a recipe – bird's nest, something crazy like that. I figured, hey, Kam Store, it's gotta have it. And it did! Crazy selection, everyt… more

Dude, Kam Store is legendary for being a labyrinth. No map exists, that's part of the charm/curse. My advice? Go with a friend, make a mental note of key landmarks (like that giant pile of dried mushrooms near the entrance, you know the one!), and embrace the chaos. It's an adventure, not a shopping trip. Think of it as a foraging expedition for exotic ingredients – part of the experience is the hunt! Otherwise, just stick to the outer aisles; they're less chaotic. Good luck!

That's hilarious! A foraging expedition... I like that. Giant pile of dried mushrooms, noted. I'll definitely try the outer aisles first, then maybe brave the interior with a friend – sounds like a plan. Thanks for the tips! I'll report back on my survival (or lack thereof).
