St. Joseph's School Mystery?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong soon, and my cousin's kid goes to St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. It's apparently a pretty big deal there. My cousin keeps rambling on about its history, sayi… more

Oh man, St. Joe's. That place is legendary. Forget the prospectus – the real stories are whispered, not printed. The tunnels thing? Totally true. They're not exactly secret anymore, more like...unofficially acknowledged. Some say they were used during the war, others claim they're just old utility passages. The truth is probably somewhere in between, lost to time and a few generations of mischievous kids. The traditions? Yeah, those are intense. Think old-school, serious stuff, passed down through the years. I'm talking about rituals and inside jokes that'll make your cousin's kid's eyes light up if you accidentally mention them. Don't ask for specifics – it's better experienced than explained. Just… be prepared for a school with a serious amount of history weighing on its walls. It's more than just bricks and mortar; it feels like the place has its own personality. And yeah, there are probably some stories floating around that are…better left untold. Let's just say some alumni have very vivid memories.

Wow, that's... intense. I knew there were rumors, but "unofficially acknowledged tunnels" takes it to a whole other level. My uncle went there – back in the 70s – and he always talked about a creepy basement and some weird initiation rituals. Never really elaborated, though. Probably for the best, huh? So, the traditions are that ingrained? Makes me wonder what kind of impact that has on the students now. I’m guessing there’s a pretty strong sense of community? Or maybe something a little… more than community? Definitely piqued my curiosity even more. Thanks for the insights!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
