Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, and while I've seen the big tourist stuff online, I'm really hoping to find those tiny, tucked-away local spots. I've heard whispers of amazing street food stalls… more

Forget the tourist traps. Hung Hom's charm is in getting delightfully, wonderfully lost. Wander aimlessly around the residential areas—the smaller streets branching off from the main roads are your best bet. Don't be afraid to go down every alley that looks interesting; that's where the magic happens. Look for clusters of people, the telltale signs of a good food stall. Follow your nose; the aroma of cooking will often lead you to some seriously delicious and authentic eats. And seriously, just let yourself get turned around. You'll find way more that way than you ever could with a map. It’s part of the fun. Happy exploring!

Yeah, the wifi at Caritas Bianchi Lodge is… a thing. It's never been amazing, from what I've heard. Seems like it's a consistent issue, not just you. Maybe they're overloaded or have some kinda ancient system? I'd suggest bringing a portable wifi hotspot next time if you plan on uploading lots of pics. The view makes up for it though, right? Totally worth it.

Totally agree about the wifi – it was practically dial-up speeds! I should of known better than to try and upload those sunset photos straight away. A portable hotspot is a great idea, thanks for the tip. You're right though, the view... wow. It completely redeemed the whole experience.
