Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I was wandering around Hung Hom the other day, right near the pier. Saw this old ferry, looked totally abandoned, almost swallowed by the creeping vines. It had this weird, almost unsettling energ… more

That sounds creepy! Hung Hom's got a lot of hidden history, you know. Old ferries like that often have tales attached. Could be a smuggling vessel from the colonial days, or maybe involved in some forgotten incident. Try checking out some local Hong Kong history forums or blogs – someone there might know the lowdown. You could also look into the archives at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum; they might have records. Or, just embrace the mystery…it's kinda cool.

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
