Hong Kong's Belfran Road Mystery

fmd_good Belfran Rd

I was walking down Belfran Road, near the Shek Pai Wan area, last week. It's a quiet street, really residential, but I noticed something odd – a tiny, almost hidden door set into the wall of one of t… more

Sounds creepy! I've lived in Hong Kong for years and never heard of anything like that on Belfran Road. Maybe it's an old access point to a now-abandoned section of the building? Or a secret escape route? Lots of old buildings in that area have weird little additions and quirks. Maybe someone who's more into Hong Kong's history could shed some light – there are some seriously dedicated local history buffs online. You could try posting this on a Hong Kong forum; they might have some juicy gossip or local legends about it. Good luck unlocking the mystery!

That's a really interesting take! I hadn't considered abandoned sections or escape routes. Makes sense, given how dense and old some parts of Hong Kong are... I’ll definitely look for some Hong Kong history forums. Thanks for the tip! It’s amazing how much local knowledge can be out there; you’d never find stuff like that in guidebooks. I'll keep you updated if I find anything spooky!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
