Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So, I'm planning a hike in Sai Kung East Country Park next month. I've seen photos of incredible secluded beaches, but the park's HUGE. Are there any particularly good trails that lead to less crowd… more

The MacLehose Trail section through Sai Kung East is pretty epic, but it gets busy. Instead, try tackling a portion of the Wilson Trail that skirts the park's eastern edge. It offers stunning coastal views, less foot traffic than the main MacLehose artery, and some seriously cool rock formations. Just check the weather forecast – some sections can be quite exposed. Look for segments around stages 4 or 5; they tend to be a bit quieter. You'll probably find some secluded coves too, though nothing's completely deserted in Hong Kong, lol.

Finding Peace in Nam Cheong?

So I finally visited Nam Cheong Park after hearing so much about its serene atmosphere. Pictures don't do it justice

Yeah, Nam Cheong is surprisingly chill. I always figured it'd be more crowded, given its location. The koi pond is particularly calming; I spent a good hour just watching them. Got some killer photos of the skyline too, though.

Wow, an hour by the koi pond? That's dedication! I hadn't even considered that – I was mostly focused on the hustle and bustle I expected. I'll have to check out the pond next time. Killer skyline photos, you say? Bet they're amazing. What time of day did you go? Lighting makes all the difference.
