Shun Lee Tsuen Playground Mystery

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

So I was at Shun Lee Tsuen Playground the other day, taking my nephew to that awesome pirate ship climbing frame – best one I've ever seen, seriously. Anyway, we noticed this weird little stone ca… more

Sounds creepy! Shun Lee Tsuen Playground is pretty big, so a little hidden carving wouldn't be too surprising. Hong Kong has a ton of folklore and local legends, many not documented online. Maybe try asking around in the neighbourhood? Someone who's lived there a while might know something about it. You could even check with the local community board or a history society. Failing that, post a picture of the carving – someone might recognize the symbols. It's probably nothing, but still... interesting.

That's a great idea! Asking around the neighborhood sounds like the best bet. I didn't even think about the community board or a history society – good call. I'll definitely try that. And yeah, I'll snap a pic of the carving if I can get a decent one; it's kinda hard to see properly. It's more the feeling of the place that's unsettling, you know? Like something's just...off. Thanks for the tips!

Finding Central's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Central

I spent a week exploring Central, Hong Kong, and while the skyscrapers are impressive, I got completely lost in the maze of tiny side streets. They were filled with amazing little shops and cafes I… more

Yeah, finding those little alleys in Central is half the fun! Most maps just won't do them justice. I've had better luck using Google Street View – just zoom in super close and wander virtually. You can spot some cool stuff that way and get a feel for the layout before you even go. Then, when you're there, just get lost! Seriously, that's the best way to discover them. It’s like a treasure hunt. Maybe grab a cheap local SIM card with data so you can use your phone's GPS if you get really turned around, but honestly, embracing the chaos is part of the Hong Kong experience.

That's awesome advice! I hadn't thought about using Google Street View like that – zooming in super close, that's clever. Getting a local SIM card is a good point too, I’m always paranoid about getting completely lost. But yeah, embracing the chaos... that sounds exactly right. It's part of the adventure, I guess. Thanks!
