Forget guidebooks. Hung Hom's best eats are the ones you stumble upon. Check out the backstreets near the MTR station – lots of little places crammed together, usually with just a few tables outside. Look for places packed with locals, especially during lunch hour. That's your best bet for authentic and cheap eats. Seriously, the best noodle place is probably the one with the longest queue. Probably won't be on any list. That's part of the fun. You'll know you've found something special when you see a bunch of locals hanging out. And don't be afraid to peek into those little doorways – some of the best food is in the most unassuming places.
