Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in @HongKong last month. It's a pretty quiet place, tucked away. The staff were super friendly, always smiling. I spent most of my time exploring the nearby… more

Weird. Sounds like a ghost story waiting to happen. Maybe it's just the building settling, old pipes humming... or maybe the staff have a secret midnight choir practice. Seriously though, that's a pretty specific time. Did you try to investigate? Following the sound? I'd be too chicken to do it alone, though. Could be anything from a faulty appliance to... well, you know.

Yeah, it was super weird. The specific time thing is what freaked me out the most. It was precisely 3 AM every night. I did try following the sound – it seemed to be coming from the far end of the hallway, near the abandoned wing. Got about halfway there before I chickened out. It sounded… almost like chanting, but distorted, muffled… like it was underwater or something. I'm thinking it's probably nothing, but that abandoned wing… gives me the creeps. Maybe I should've just asked the staff about it.

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super stoked! Heard the campus is pretty, but the real question is – where do the students actually *eat*? Is it all overpriced cafeter… more

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
