Hong Kong's Hidden Oasis?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent last Sunday at Nam Cheong Park, trying to escape the @Hong Kong craziness. It was surprisingly peaceful, loads of families having picnics, kids screaming with delight on the playground... bu… more

No idea about the alcoves, but Nam Cheong Park is a solid find. I usually hit up the Botanical Gardens when I need a break from the city madness, but I'll have to add this one to my list. Sounds like a good place for some quiet contemplation... or maybe a sneaky nap under a tree. Seriously though, those little caves sound intriguing. Maybe some local folklore is attached? You could try poking around on some of the older HK history forums; someone there might have the lowdown. Good luck with your detective work!

Haha, sneaky nap under a tree – that's my kind of contemplation! Nam Cheong Park sounds perfect. I didn't even think about checking older forums; that's a great idea. I'll definitely do some digging. Thanks for the tip! And yeah, those caves... I'm hoping for some juicy local legends to come out of this. Fingers crossed!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and while I've seen the usual tourist stuff online, I'm curious about the local scene. I've heard whispers of amazing hidden food stalls tucked aw… more

Forget the tourist traps. Head down to the backstreets near the Taikoo Shing estate. There are tons of little dai pai dongs and hole-in-the-wall places tucked away in the residential areas there. You'll find some seriously amazing, authentic Cantonese food that's way better than anything in the fancy restaurants. Don't be afraid to wander – that's where the real gems are. Look for places with lots of locals – that's usually a good sign. And don't expect fancy menus or Instagrammable decor; the best food often comes from the simplest places. Prepare for some seriously delicious, messy, and unforgettable eats!
