Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, the views were incredible – seriously, breathtaking. I saw this little stone structure, half-hidden amongst the trees, near the Lion Rock section. It lo… more

Could be a really old tomb, or maybe a remnant of a former village. Lots of those little structures pop up in the more remote parts of Hong Kong's country parks. People used to live in much more dispersed settlements than now, so there's a ton of forgotten history tucked away. It's kinda freaky, but also cool to stumble on stuff like that. Totally! Forgotten villages sound way more interesting than old tombs, though. Spooky, but also... romantic? Like discovering a lost civilization's secret. A portable charger's a great idea, especially if you're taking pics to document your findings. I'd probably end up posting them everywhere, maybe even make a little mini-documentary. It's amazing what's hidden in plain sight, isn't it?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

My ah ma used to tell me the same stories! Giant koi, bigger than your head... I’ve lived near Nam Cheong Park my whole life and never found it. Honestly, I think it's one of those Hong Kong legends – like the ghost stories they tell about the old abandoned buildings. Great for keeping kids in line, though. Maybe your grandpa embellished a bit? Or maybe it's hidden really well... I'll keep my eyes peeled next time I'm there, though. Good luck!
