That's a really interesting theory! I hadn't considered old plumbing or the AC system. The metallic scent was definitely more of a faint background smell, not overpowering, so a small leak makes sense. The perfume smell was much stronger and more...floral, almost like a really old-fashioned rose scent. It was weirdly concentrated in one particular hallway. Maybe some old perfume bottle cracked open somewhere? I’m racking my brain trying to figure it out – it was so strange! Thanks for the suggestions!
