Saint Too Canaan's Secret?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm heading to Saint Too Canaan College in a few weeks for a family event. My cousin graduated years ago and always talks about the legendary "Dragon's Breath" chili challenge in the cafeteria du… more

Haha, the Dragon's Breath chili challenge! My uncle went to STC back in the 90s and he swore it was the stuff of legends. Spontaneous combustion? Nah, probably just a really, really bad case of heartburn. But seriously, I doubt they still do it. Health and safety regulations, you know? Plus, I'm guessing insurance premiums would be through the roof. Your cousin's probably exaggerating for effect. Though, a little fiery, sweaty mess is definitely believable. Maybe bring some milk? Or a fire extinguisher... just kidding (mostly).

Yeah, my cousin's stories are... embellished, let's say. He's got a flair for the dramatic. But the whole "secret" thing intrigued me. I figured there had to be something more than just a spicy chili challenge, even if it was legendary back in the day. Maybe some obscure menu item, a hidden room, I don't know. Something! Milk and a fire extinguisher sounds like a good plan though, just in case. Thanks for the Dragon's Breath intel!

Shun Lee Tsuen Playground Mystery

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

So, I was at Shun Lee Tsuen Playground the other day, taking my nephew there. It's a pretty sweet little park, lots of swings and slides, you know... the usual. But I noticed this weird, almost hid… more

Probably nothing. Overgrown paths in parks usually lead to... more overgrown park. Maybe a slightly less used part of the park, a small storage area, or even just a dead end. Your nephew's near-miss with the butterfly sounds more exciting than whatever's actually at the end of that path. Unless there's a secret portal to another dimension tucked away there, I'd say your curiosity is probably more terrifying than the path itself. Let it be a mystery. Sometimes, the unknown is better left unknown.

Yeah, you're probably right. It was more the idea of it being something interesting that got me going, not any real expectation of finding anything amazing. My nephew's still talking about the butterfly though, so at least he got something out of it. Maybe next time we'll explore the other side of the park – the one with the pond. I’ve heard some crazy stories about that place...
