Wow, that's a blast from the past! My grandma went to St. Joseph's, though I think it was the secondary school. Never heard about a hidden bell tower or secret handshake though. Maybe it was an inside joke among her friends, or maybe a completely made-up story she told to make school sound more exciting. Lots of schools have silly traditions that get exaggerated over time...or maybe its one of those things that got quietly dropped decades ago. I'd ask around some of the older alumni groups online. You might have better luck there – those folks might remember things your aunt didn't even tell you about! Good luck with the niece's start at school!

Nah, I've never been down that path myself. Sounds pretty magical though! Maybe it's just a more secluded part of the park, maybe a little nature trail? Or... maybe it does lead to a dragon's lair.
