St. Joseph's School Mystery

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and my niece is starting at St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. I remember my aunt going there – ages ago! She always talked about this crazy tradition… more

Wow, that's a blast from the past! My grandma went to St. Joseph's, though I think it was the secondary school. Never heard about a hidden bell tower or secret handshake though. Maybe it was an inside joke among her friends, or maybe a completely made-up story she told to make school sound more exciting. Lots of schools have silly traditions that get exaggerated over time...or maybe its one of those things that got quietly dropped decades ago. I'd ask around some of the older alumni groups online. You might have better luck there – those folks might remember things your aunt didn't even tell you about! Good luck with the niece's start at school!

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
