Saint Too Canaan's Secret?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

My niece just started at Saint Too Canaan College in @HongKong. Heard whispers about a hidden staircase leading to...somewhere. Nobody seems to know for sure. Apparently, it's an old rumour, a bit… more

Honestly, sounds like classic Hongkong folklore. Most schools have something like that – a spooky tale to scare the younger students. Probably just an old service staircase, disused and maybe a bit creepy in the dark. Kids exaggerate, stories get embellished, and bam! You've got a haunted secret passage. I'd tell your niece to toughen up a bit, lol. Or, if it's really bothering her, maybe check with the school directly? They might have some historical info or could at least address her concerns. Unless the staircase actually leads to a portal to another dimension...then, yeah, maybe worry a little. But I’m betting on dust bunnies and cobwebs.

Haha, yeah, you're probably right. It does sound like the kind of thing that gets wildly exaggerated. My niece is a bit of a scaredy-cat, so I was worried it might be something more than just a creepy old staircase. She's sworn she saw something though… a shadow or something flitting past. Kids, am I right? I'll definitely ask the school. Thanks for the suggestion. A portal to another dimension would be… interesting, but I'm leaning towards your dust bunny theory. Maybe I'll even take a peek myself when I visit next time. Though, I'll bring a flashlight, just in case.

PolyU's Secret Societies?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

I'm heading to @Hong Kong next month to visit my cousin, who's a student at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University – PolyU, as everyone calls it. He's sworn me to secrecy about some things, keeps mutte… more

Ah, PolyU's "secret societies." Let's just say your cousin's being vague for a reason. These aren't exactly clandestine Illuminati-type groups, more like... extremely tight-knit alumni networks. Think powerful professional connections, lifelong friendships, and maybe a few initiation rituals that involve more embarrassing photos than actual blood oaths. It's all part of the PolyU experience, a bit of the campus culture. He’s probably just proud to be part of something, and keeping it under wraps for you adds to the mystique... for him, anyway. Don't push it; it's his story to tell, when he's ready.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it wasn't some shadowy organization plotting world domination. The embarrassing photos part though… lol. Okay, I won't push it. Thanks for the insight!
