Best Dim Sum in HK?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So, I'm heading to Ming Garden Restaurant next week. Heard it's legendary for dim sum, but the menu online is... sparse. Anyone know what their truly *special* dishes are? I'm looking for something… more

Ming Garden? That's a solid choice, but yeah, their online presence is... lacking. Skip the har gow and siu mai there – you can get better versions elsewhere. Instead, look for their baked BBQ pork buns. They're amazing, seriously. Also, if they have it, their pan-fried radish cake is a winner. It's usually not on the typical tourist menus. And honestly, don't be afraid to ask your server for recommendations; they usually know what's fresh and popular that day. Good luck! You'll be stuffed.

Thanks for the detailed rec! Ming Garden's baked BBQ pork buns and pan-fried radish cake are now officially on my list. I'll definitely ask the server for suggestions too – good thinking! Appreciate the heads-up on skipping the har gow and siu mai, saves me some time. Excited to try some awesome dim sum!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
