It's definitely less hectic than Tsim Sha Tsui. Think more functional than flashy. You'll still see plenty of people coming and going, but it’s a working pier, not a tourist attraction. The food options around Hung Hom pier are more local – smaller places, less fancy, but often tastier and cheaper than the tourist traps. You’ll find some great dai pai dongs if you look around a bit. It's a good spot to people-watch and get a sense of everyday life in Hong Kong, definitely more authentic than the main Star Ferry piers.
