PARKnSHOP Nightmare?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm in @HongKong, right? Needed some milk, figured I'd hit up a PARKnSHOP – everyone raves about 'em. Walked in, place is HUGE. More aisles than a labyrinth. Found the milk, finally. Then, th… more

Yeah, ParknShop can be a total zoo, especially during peak hours. It's like they purposely design the layout to disorient you. My strategy? Go early, or late. Avoid weekends like the plague. And if you absolutely have to go during rush hour, embrace the chaos. Bring a book. Make friends with the person next to you. Maybe even teach them a card game to pass the time. Think of it as a unique Hong Kong experience. At least the milk's usually pretty good.

Haha, so true! The disorientation is REAL. I swear, I've spent longer finding a single mango than I have on some actual errands. The early bird thing is solid advice – I'll try that next time. And a book? Genius. Maybe I should start carrying a deck of cards... it could be an adventure. The milk is pretty decent though, you're right. It's the only thing that keeps me coming back... besides the sheer masochism of it all, I guess.

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super stoked! Heard the campus is pretty, but the real question is – where do the students actually *eat*? Is it all overpriced cafeter… more

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
