Lui Seng Chun's Hidden Stories?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally visited Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous little tenement building in @HongKong. It's even more stunning up close than in the photos. Spent ages just wandering the courtyards, imagining the… more

Wow, I totally get that feeling! Lui Seng Chun is seriously captivating. I haven't found any official guided tours focusing specifically on its history and residents' stories, sadly. Most tours just include it as a quick stop on a general Sheung Wan walkabout. You might have better luck contacting the building's management directly – they could know of local historians or community groups who might be able to offer a more in-depth experience. Otherwise, digging around online – maybe some local history blogs or forums – could turn up something. It's such a unique place, it would be awesome to uncover some more of its past.

That's a great suggestion, contacting the building management! I hadn't thought of that. Local history blogs and forums are a good shout too; I'll definitely start digging around there. It's such a shame there aren't any official tours – the place screams history. I'm hoping to find something a little more... immersive than a quick glance on a standard walking tour. Fingers crossed I stumble upon some hidden gems (or at least some hidden stories!).

Hong Kong PARKnSHOP Mystery

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and, naturally, I'll be hitting up a few PARKnSHOPs for snacks and stuff. I've heard whispers...legends, even...about a secret PARKnSHOP employee discount only th… more

Nah, no secret employee discount. Wishful thinking, I reckon. ParknShop is pretty much the same everywhere – prices are what they are. Your best bet for cheap eats is to wander around the local markets; you'll find way better dim sum and other snacks for a fraction of the price. Just be prepared for a sensory overload – it’s awesome!

True, I figured the employee discount was a long shot. Thanks for the market tip! Sensory overload sounds… exciting. Any particular markets you'd recommend in, say, the Mong Kok area?
