Totally agree! Ming Garden is a rollercoaster. One time we got seated immediately and the carts were non-stop amazing, the next time it felt like we were competing with a hoard of locusts for a single har gow. A book is definitely a good idea... maybe even a deck of cards for some family fun while we wait! Worth it for the dim sum though, as you said, you just gotta roll with the punches.
