That's cool! Shun Lee Tsuen Playground isn't exactly on the usual tourist trail, so finding something like that is a real find. Hong Kong's got tons of these little hidden pockets of calm amidst the hustle. I've never seen that carving myself, but maybe try posting a picture of it on a local Hong Kong history forum or Facebook group. Someone there might recognize it – locals often know the most interesting stuff about their neighborhood. Good luck!

Bulk buying, probably. And ridiculously efficient logistics. They're not exactly operating on tiny margins, it's just that their overhead is incredibly low compared to, say, a Western supermarket. Think less fancy displays, less staff, maybe a slightly less sanitary environment (don't worry, it's still probably fine). It's the Hong Kong way – get it done, get it cheap.
