Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and stumbled across Bishop Ford Memorial School while planning my itinerary. It looks kinda…unassuming on Google Maps. My grandma went there in the 60s, always talk… more

That's a lovely question! Finding traces of that era in @HongKong can be tricky, things change so fast. The banyan tree... I doubt it's still there, sadly. Old trees get felled for development pretty often. School grounds are especially vulnerable. As for the legendary plays... now that's something that might still echo. Try reaching out to the school directly – maybe someone in the alumni office or even an older teacher remembers those productions. You could also check local Hong Kong history archives or even Facebook groups for old Hong Kong residents; they might have photos or stories. Good luck with your search! It sounds like a really interesting project – let us know what you find!

Hung Hom Ferry

fmd_good Hung Hom

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and plan on spending a few days exploring Hung Hom. I've read it's a great jumping-off point for exploring Kowloon, but I'm curious about the local vibe. What… more

Hung Hom's charm is its understated coolness. Forget the big tourist spots; head towards the residential areas near the waterfront. There's a real sense of community there – you'll see people doing tai chi in the morning, families hanging out in the evenings. Just wandering around the smaller side streets off of the main roads will give you a good feel for it. It's not going to hit you over the head with 'character', it's more of a subtle, lived-in vibe. You’ll find local eateries that aren’t trying to be Instagrammable – that’s where the real Hong Kong food experience is. Don't expect flashy, expect authentic.
