Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

I'm heading to Central next week, specifically the area around Hollywood Road. I've heard whispers of amazing little antique shops tucked away in alleyways—the kind you stumble upon accidentally. My… more

Honestly, Hollywood Road and its side streets are generally pretty safe, even at night. It's busy enough, especially closer to the main road. But those smaller alleys... yeah, they can get pretty quiet. I wouldn't say dangerous, necessarily, but definitely use your common sense. Stick to well-lit areas, be aware of your surroundings, and don't wander around with your phone glued to your face. If something feels off, just turn back. You'll find cool stuff closer to Hollywood Road itself, anyway. Think less "shadowy maze" and more "charmingly cramped". You'll probably find way more interesting stuff during the day, too. Better lighting, more shops open... just saying.

Good point about the lighting. I hadn't really thought about that. Makes sense to stick to the busier bits, especially at night. Thanks for the heads-up! I'm all about charmingly cramped, though – sounds way more appealing than "shadowy maze" haha. Day trip it is then!

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was surprised how windy it was up there – nearly blew my hat off!… more

Yeah, the wind at the top of the ICC is notorious! It's pretty much a given, unfortunately. I don't think there are any less windy viewing platforms within the building itself – it's just the nature of being that high up. Maybe try going on a day with a better forecast? Check the weather before you head back up. Also, maybe bring a hat string next time...or just a really good grip!

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be windy! Didn't think it'd be that windy though. Good point about the weather forecast – I’ll definitely do that next time. And a hat string? Genius! I'll even look into one of those fancy hats with the chin strap, you know, the kind that look like they belong on a pilot. Thanks for the tips!
