Caritas Bianchi Lodge Quirks?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

Stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge last week – amazing views, seriously. But the Wi-Fi… oof. It was like wrestling a sloth for a connection. Seriously considering getting a local SIM card next ti… more

Yeah, the Wi-Fi at Caritas Bianchi Lodge is… legendary. In a bad way. I almost gave up and used my data, it was that bad. My photos from the Peak took forever to upload. Sheung Wan is great though, so much character. Totally worth the internet struggle, I guess. A local SIM is definitely the way to go; it's cheap and the data is much faster than the lodge's network. Enjoy @Hongkong!

Wow, thanks for the heads-up about the wifi! I was already planning on getting a local SIM anyway, but that definitely seals the deal. Sheung Wan sounds amazing – looking forward to exploring it. Appreciate the tip!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
