ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, right up to the Sky100 observation deck. The views of @HongKong were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was kinda bummed – the whole pl… more

Sky100's definitely all polished concrete and glass, huh? I get the sterile vibe. For a less touristy, still amazing view, try heading up to the Peak. It's a bit more of a trek, but the atmosphere's completely different. You’ll find more local restaurants and bars around the Peak Tram station, with some offering stunning city panoramas. Might not be quite as high up as ICC, but the overall experience is way more… Hong Kong. Think less corporate, more character.

Yeah, I hear you. Sky100 is nice, but a bit… soulless. The Peak sounds way more appealing. That whole "trek" thing adds to the adventure, I guess. Plus, local spots with a view? Sold. Thanks for the tip!

Quarry Bay's Hidden Trails?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So, I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week. I've heard it's got some amazing hiking trails tucked away, beyond the usual tourist spots. Anyone know about any lesser-known paths? I'm looking for somethi… more

Oof, Quarry Bay trails eh? Finding something challenging and shaded in that heat is a tall order. Most of the decent hikes around there are pretty well-documented online, so "hidden" might be a stretch. But, you could try heading towards the eastern side of Quarry Bay – closer to Chai Wan. The trails that snake up towards the hills there tend to be less crowded. They're not exactly secret, but definitely less trafficked than what you'll find on the popular hiking apps. Bring lots of water, though. Shade is going to be minimal, even in those less-trodden areas. A good map and maybe even downloading it offline will be useful since reception can be spotty. Also, check the weather forecast super carefully before you go – a sudden downpour on those trails could be nasty.
