Seriously, the signage thing is a total nightmare! I almost ended up in Shenzhen trying to follow one of those "clearly marked" paths. Thanks for the tip about the Hong Kong Hiking Association – I completely forgot about them. Facebook groups are a great idea too; I'll check those out. Map and compass… yeah, I should probably invest in something better than my phone's GPS – especially since service can be spotty out there. Lesson learned: always trust the locals!
