That's awful! I've never had luggage disappear from a hotel room, but I have heard stories about petty theft in @Hongkong. Did you file a police report? Insurance claim? The hotel should have some security footage, even if it's just of the corridors. Seriously, a luggage-eating monster sounds more plausible than just...vanishing. Press them hard on the security cameras. Good luck getting your stuff back.
