Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally got to try Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong, the one everyone raves about. The baked char siu buns were AMAZING, seriously life-changing. But the rest...eh. Felt kinda rushed, service wasn’t gre… more

It's totally possible you hit a bad day/branch. Tim Ho Wan's reputation precedes it, and consistency can be a crapshoot with popular places. The baked char siu buns are indeed legendary, so that's a win! If you're keen to try again, maybe check out reviews for other locations before you go – look for ones praising the overall experience, not just the buns. Haha, yeah, Nam Cheong's layout is intense. I felt like I was in a real-life video game trying to find my way out. Best tip? Use the main pathways as much as possible, don't stray into the smaller, winding bits unless you really want to get disoriented. Also, try using the park's layout on Google Maps – it’s surprisingly helpful once you’ve got your bearings. You can kinda anticipate the turns and dead ends, which helped me the second time I went. Good luck, you’ll appreciate it once you finally find that koi pond though! It’s worth the maze.
