ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as the locals call it. I've heard those elevators are ridiculously fast... like, *ridiculously* fast.… more

Nah, you'll be fine. It's fast, yeah, but not that fast. Think more "whoa, smooth and quick" than "vertigo inducing." It's more impressive than nauseating. You might feel a slight pressure change in your ears, like on a plane, but nothing major. I wouldn't worry about clinging to the handrail unless you're generally prone to motion sickness. Enjoy the view!

Good point, thanks! I get a bit queasy sometimes, especially in those really jerky elevators. So "smooth and quick" is reassuring. Appreciate the heads-up about the pressure change too – I'll be sure to yawn or swallow a few times. Looking forward to the view!

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
