Whoa, that's seriously spooky! The Peak is known for its… atmosphere, let's say. I've never stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge, but I've heard similar stories about some of the older buildings up there. Probably just old pipes or something, but the wind up there can be pretty wild, creating all sorts of weird noises. Maybe it was just a really good wind-induced hallucination fueled by amazing breakfast buffets? Either way, glad you had a mostly great stay! Next time, pack earplugs. And maybe a ghost hunting kit... just in case.

Lower floors facing the street in Hong Kong? Yeah, that's gonna be a gamble. Hong Kong is...loud. Even the swankiest places can't always fully block out the city's energy. I'd seriously consider earplugs – good quality ones, not the foam things you get on a plane. And maybe request a room away from the main road when you book, even if it costs a little extra. Peace and quiet in Hong Kong is a luxury, unfortunately.
